Why a “Fake” Trophy Wife?
My husband has always called me his Trophy Wife, however upon further investigation the title really doesn’t fit me.
Wikipedia defines a Trophy Wife as:
Trophy wife is an expression used to refer to a wife, usually young and attractive, who is regarded as a status symbol for the husband, who is often older and wealthy.
I’m a wife. I have a husband. Beyond that the definition just doesn’t describe me. I’m not old but I’m getting a whole lot older every day*. I like to joke with my husband that he is much older than I but 17 months is not much. As for wealthy…my husband claims my shoe closet is what keeps us from being wealthy.
So I’ve added the caveat of “fake” and this blog is a way to document my journey and hopefully make us all laugh. A few other things you might want to know about me:
- I’m vegan. Ish. Veganish. I hate the label but love the way eating an animal-free diet makes me feel. I also try to eat Organic as much as possible.
- I love Kansas State University. The Wildcat Nation is very special to me and I’ll probably blog about them more than you’d like.
- I use nicknames for people in my life, especially my husband. Sugar Daddy might sound like an obvious choice but my go to is either Cute Boy (because he’s cute!) or Lawn Boy (he is a professional grass grower).
- I’ve been blogging for years. I deleted all of the photos from my old blog on accident. Instead of crying about it like I wanted to, I started this one.
*Thanks Tim McGraw, for that line.
