Get your Fix

I felt it appropriate to jump back in with something EVERYONE is blogging about: StitchFix. If you follow me on Twitter (which you should because I’m Twitter Famous) and/or Instagram you’ll probably recognize these photos/stories. This is why I haven’t been blogging. Because Twitter and Instagram are enough.

I’m sure I’m very late to this and you already know about/do it/are tired of hearing about it. But you know what you aren’t? Tired of seeing photos like this:

Skirt over pants, it’s very fancy

In case you wondered during my absence, J, J, & TDub have still been getting together every month. It’s the highlight of my month. Always. A few months ago Jana convinced Jamie and I to sign up for StichFix. Since then we’ve been scheduling our get togethers around our fixes. And having even more fun.

I feel I should say the following: I am very comfortable in my current wardrobe. It is boring. I do not get outside my comfort zone very often. I felt like this was a good way to do that. I don’t follow fashion blogs or other fashion media so I’m always behind the trends and very uncool. Jamie and Jana though? They are very fashionable and I listen to everything they have to say on the subject. Except shoes. I have a post in the works on that too. Just wait. (Hopefully not 9 months)

Our first fix came and we could barely contain ourselves:

What’s in the box?

In case you don’t know, Stitchfix is kind of like ShoeDazzle (don’t even get me started on what crap ShoeDazzle has become) in that a stylist chooses 5 items for you each month. You can choose how many (if any) you want to buy. They ask you a lot of specific and good questions on your profile as well as sizes to try to come up with things you’ll enjoy. Each month your fix is supposed to get better based on the feedback you give.

You don’t know me!

Jana was on her second box and everything was awesome. Read everything she has to say and see how hot she is here.

Jamie’s stitch was SO good that she already owned a few of the items! Jamie hasn’t blogged about StitchFix so you’ll just have to take my and Jana’s photos as evidence of how hot she is.

My first item was a purse. No Bueno.

Ew

The next few items though were really good and I kept this blue shirt:

I’ve already had my eyes open to one thing. I know that not all fashion works on everyone. One of the cute things the rest of you are wearing that I have decided won’t work on my short thick legs, without ever trying any on, are skinny jeans. I hate jeans. And I’m not skinny. StitchFix sent me a pair and although they were way too long (because my profile wasn’t accurately filled out) I didn’t hate them and vow that I will try on a pair of skinny jeans sometime.

The other item I bought that I don’t have a photo of is the cute blue and white dress you can see laying over the chair in the photo above. It is adorable (if not a little tight in the boobs – such is my life).

The next time we got together we were all hoping for even better results than the first time. And StitchFix definitely delivered. Jana should have bought her whole box (they give you a discount if you buy all 5 things) but she didn’t.

What about this shirt?

I again walked away with 2 things. A pretty plain white shirt (not outside my comfort zone) and this skirt that J&J oohed and ahhed over so much I felt compelled to purchase it.
